Title: High spirits

Creatures: M'Gohrathet of the clan Eesleviathan
A demon of illusion who can give his illusions form and substance.
This species has huge curling horns, a leering, sharp-featured face with a forked goatee, wild ebony hair, gleaming spikes and black, curling tattoos on the chest. The legs taper into goatlike limbs and hooves and on his long fingers are talonlike nails. These demons have emerald flesh.

Vanquished by the Charmed Ones

X'ahroth of the clan Eesleviathan
Another demon of illusion and brother of M'Gohrathet
By tapping into the Maxwell manor's powers he planned to manipulate humans inside, trapping them in their own world of illusion and using their bodies for his own purposes in the world which as with all demons were spreading evil and becoming the ruler of the underworld.

Vanquished by the Charmed Ones

Emily DuChancey, witch
She once was the receptionist at Robert Maxwell's doctor. When she overheard that he was dying she casted a spell to bind him into the manor, giving him a form of immortality and fame as the ghost that haunts the manor.
As consequence of the personal gain effect Emily was doomed to eternal youth and immortality.

Robert Maxwell, ghost
Once a famous actor and mortal he was bound into the manor.

The Maxwell manson was originally built in
England and then stone by stone moved to the USA it is charged with psychic energy.

will be kept alive within these walls by
Emily's power and might

So we vanquish thee with all the rest

(potion needed; not working):

We sisters three will vanquish thee
your illusions will not avail
By the Power of Three we swear to see
you pass beyond the veil

to give the Charmed Ones the powers of the manson:
(used by Emily)

To the sisters three, I give to thee
a boon I once granted
to you-know-he

to vanquish X'ahroth
(potion needed):

Demon of illusion, we Sisters Three
call upon the house and the Power of Three!
We see right through you, and don't you know
Where you're heading, you don't want to go

Summary: The Charmed Ones travel to Hollywood to attend a big bash hosted by
Kevin Peterson, Paige's old flame. Kevin is holding the party at his
recently purchased mansion, which he was able to afford because of rumors
that it's haunted! Sure enough, ghostly goings-on begin almost
immediately, but everyone believes that Kevin is the one behind the "haunting."
He confides in Paige that he is not.
The ghost reveals himself to be Robert Maxwell, a star of stage and
screen who vanished under mysterious circumstances in 1926 -- right after
receiving a singing telegram. A friendly ghost, Maxwell just likes
having an audience. But when people start to disappear and the house seals
shut, the Charmed Ones realize something evil must also be lurking. It
is only with the able assistance of their ghostly ally that they and
the rest of the partygoers stand a chance.

Summary: 1 out of 12
This book bored me to tears .. Dull characters trapped in a haunted house drowned in chliches and a story that can't decide what it should be and in the end is nothing. Neither ghost nor love story, neither frightening nor interesing ..
The Charmed Ones are completely out of character and you wonder why they are in this story at all.
